Delbert Lindsey Beard, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2017)

Prior to his retirement, he worked several years at American Sign Company and in 1951-1953 he proudly served in the United States Army. He was a long-standing member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church. He was the patriarch of a very large, respected family. He was the son of the late Lilburn & Sadie Thompson Beard. His wife of 66 years, Regena Bradshaw Beard, survives. He leaves 51 direct living descendants.

Delbert Lindsey Beard, 85, of Williamsburg, Ohio, formerly of Campbellsville, KY passed away Nov. 27, 2017 in Georgetown, Ohio.

The Funeral Service for Delbert L. Beard will be Saturday, December 2, 2017 at 9amCT/10amET, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Pastor Danny Nelson officiating. Interment will immediately follow in Zion Separate Baptist Church Cemetery. The family requests visitation on 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Friday, December 1, 2017, and 8am-9amCT/9am-10amET, Saturday, December 2, 2017, prior to the service at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.



Delbert Lindsey Beard, Taylor Co., KY (1931-2017)


He was born in Attilla, Taylor County, KY, on December 11, 1931. He was the son of the late Lilburn & Sadie Thompson Beard. He died Monday, November 27, 2017, in Georgetown, Brown County, Ohio, at the age of 85 years, 11 months, and 16 days of age.

Also preceding him in death was a son, Glendal Keith Beard; and a sister, Elaine Skaggs.

Prior to his retirement, he worked several years at American Sign Company and in 1951-1953 he proudly served in the United States Army. He was a long-standing member of Pitman Valley Baptist Church.

Delbert was a devoted husband of 66 years to his surviving spouse, Regena Bradshaw Beard, whom he married May 5, 1951.

Also surviving are:
  • His five children: Delbert (Patricia) Beard of Florida; Joyce (Edward) Becker of Owenton, KY; Rosemary (David) Becker of Williamsburg, Ohio; Anita (Greg) Bunnell of Indianapolis, IN; and Cheryl (Randy) Rickey of Batavia, Ohio

  • A sister> Eldora (James) Allen of Campbellsville, KY

  • Sixteen grandchildren

  • Twenty-five great-grandchildren

  • Five great-great grandchildren

  • And a host of friends
