Vicky Pike: It's weird out here by Walmart with no lights

UPDATE: Lights are back on!!! Vicky Pike reports by phone at at 8:31pmCT: At that time the gas pumps at 5-Star still taped off, and Hardee's was dark. Down toward Burkesville the lights are back on and I'm going to check out what's happened toward Gradyville. Oh - the lights are back on at the Adair Kwik Lube and at the Pinewood Shopping Center.
Taylor County RECC Transformer thought to be problem.

By Vicky Pike

(Sat 18 Nov 2017; 7:52pmCT) - It's been weird out here since I got home about 10 minutes ago. As I pulled in to our farm all the lights went out on the Cumberland Parkway, at homes, at the Pinewood Shopping Center and in Holladay Place.

For some reason, the Duo-County Office has lights.

I've been told that a transformer is out on Frank Dohoney Road. I don't know how far the territory extends, but I can't see lights anywhere except for Duo-County.

Will let everyone know if there's an update.

Lights were back on at 8:42 at 5-Star, but pump area taped

At 8:43pmCT, Saturday, November 18, 2017, the lights had been on for three or four minutes - apparently the Taylor County RECC transformer on Frank Dohoney Road has been repaired - but at the Five Star the pump island was still taped off. I'd think they'll have them open shortly. - Vicky Pike.

Truck warned of approaching light outage

2017-11-18 - Corner Edmonton Road and Burkesville Road, Columbia, KY - Photo by Vicky Pike.
The light truck which warned of intersect traffic lights being out at the Burkesville Road & Edmonton Road intersection, continued at 8:43pmCT, Saturday night, minutes after the Taylor County RECC transformer had been repaired. Boy, the darkness out here tonight reminiscent of 10 years ago, before Walmart opened, when all you could see were the lights from a few scatter houses. By the way, I also check on downtown Bliss, and everything is back to normal there, from a drive by observation. - VICKY PIKE.

After the transformer repaired, Hardee's had just a few lights on

2017-11-18 - Hardees Restaurant at Holladay Place - Photo by Vicky Pike.
Hardee's was still browned out, for at least a few minutes, at 8:42pmCT, when this photo was taken. All the other busineses in Holiday Place which are usually open at this time, including Walmart, had been re-lit as though nothing had ever happened. - Vicky Pike
