Adair Co. Grand Jury returns indictments 8 Nov 2017

Indictments brought against 13 individuals from Columbia, Knifley, Hustonville, Jamestown, and Dunnville, KY, on charges including assault, possession, wanton endangerment, theft, public intoxication, and tampering with physical evidence.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Adair County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Columbia, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Wednesday, 8 November 2017:


  • Steven Dewayne Cortie (10/28/1977), Quinn Hollow Rd., Knifley, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00175. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Bail jumping, 1st degree. No bond, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Matthew R. Burton (12/25/1996), Appleby Dr., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00176. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Assault, 3rd degree. Arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Erik Ray Coffey (06/18/1979), McKinney-Geneva Rd., Hustonville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00177. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 3rd+ offense, methamphetamine. Count 2 - Tampering with physical evidence. Count 3 - Persistent felony offender, 1st degree. Count 4 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 5 - Criminal littering. Bail set at $1,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Daniel Bernard McClintock (08/09/1983), Union Church Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00178. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 2 - Menacing. Count 3 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Bail set at $2,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Patrick Tyler Stapleton (07/28/1997), KY Dept Corrections, Bell Co. Forestry Camp. Indictment No. 17-CR-00179. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Receiving stolen property, firearm. Arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Patrick Tyler Stapleton (07/28/1997), KY Dept Corrections, Bell Co. Forestry Camp. Indictment No. 17-CR-00180. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition over $500 but under $10,000. Count 2 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition under $500. Arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Ryan D. Johnson (06/04/1984), E. Cumberland Ave., Jamestown, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00181. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 4 - Public intoxication. Bail set at $1,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • David Ray Goode (10/09/1954), Sanders Ridge Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00182. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Marijuana cultivation more than 5 plants, 1st offense. Count 2 - Possession of marijuana. Count 3 - Possession of drug paraphernalia. Count 4 - Tampering with physical evidence. Bail set at $7,500 cash/sec prop, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Andrew Michael Bates (11/24/1990), W. Page St., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00183. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Carrying a concealed deadly weapon. Count 3 - No operator's license. Arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Andrea Diane Gaskin (07/15/1981), Gaskin Dr., Jamestown, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00184. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, 2g+ methamphetamine. Count 2 - Possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree (drug unspecified). Count 3 - Tampering with physical evidence. Count 4 - Public intoxication (excluding alcohol). Arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Lovaughn P. Samuels (04/16/1998), Heartland Circle, Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00185. Charged with 5 counts. Count 1 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition $10,000 or more but less than $1,000,000. Count 2 - Criminal mischief, 1st degree. Count 3 - Leaving the scene of an accident/failure to render aid or assistance. Count 4 - Theft by unlawful taking/disposition - firearm. Count 5 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Bail set at $100,000 cash, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Benjamin Lewis Harmon (07/15/1987), Oak Grove Rd., Columbia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00186. Charged with 3 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 2nd degree. Count 2 - Criminal mischief, 1st degree. Count 3 - Criminal mischief, 1st degree. Arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Michael F. Harris (03/01/1993), Dunnville Rd., Dunnville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00187. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Flagrant nonsupport. Bail set at $1,500 cash non-refundable, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.

  • Marvel Dale Lowe (09/15/1946), Hwy 1058, Jamestown, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00188. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Theft by deception, include cold checks, $10,000 or more. Bail set at $10,000 cash/sec prop, arraignment 11/28/2017 at 1pmCT.
