Seventeen LWC Blue Raiders earn MSC Football Academic honors By Charles Balcom, LWC Assistant Sports Information Director COLUMBIA, KY - Seventeen members of the Lindsey Wilson football team earned Mid-South Conference Academic honors, conference officials announced on Monday. Lou Alexander, Dylan Beasley, Lou Bunning, Marcus Butler, Clay Chasteen, Cameron Dukes, H.T. Fountain, Mason Helton, Andrew Hughes, Julian Johns, Ryan Karrer, Scotty Krantz, Zac Lawson, Zak Mizell, Trent Mueller, Payton Veraldi and Conner Walls each collected the academic honor. Beasley earns his fourth-career honor, Alexander, Butler, Karrer, Lawson and Mueller each earn their third, and Mizell, Bunning, Johns and Veraldi each pick up their second. The 17 honorees from Lindsey Wilson were the third most in the conference. Reinhardt (Ga.) led all institutions with 32, followed by Georgetown (Ky.) at 26. In order to be nominated by an institution, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved at least sophomore academic status. Community Trust Bank is the sponsor of the Mid-South Conference Academic Award program. Community Trust Bank, founded in 1903 in Pikeville, Kentucky, currently serves the people and communities of Kentucky, West Virginia and Tennessee with 71 banking locations, including Columbia, KY, home of the Blue Raiders.
