The weekend began on Thursday with a late night performance in preliminary competition at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. 100 bands competed in preliminary competition with 37 bands selected to advance into semi-finals competition on Saturday. Adair County performed at 5:30amCT/6:30amET Saturday morning, rising to the challenge and performing their best show of the year! Truly, the ability of these students to set the standard of excellence for the day's performances was awe inspiring! The music was performed with precision and energy. The colorguard transformed themselves into visual artists of dance, flag, and rifle work, and the marching technique was nearly flawless! With this performance, Adair County was named the Bands of America Class A National Champion! This national championship is the fourth in a row and sixth overall for the Adair County Band. The manner in which this band represents our county and school district is to be commended. The students, in grades from 7th to 12th, take on the responsibilities and challenges of performing in an intense and artistic show designed to take this band to the next level. Many thanks to Director Tom Case and Assistant Director Jordan Humphress for leading and teaching the students in such a positive and life-changing way. Your influence on these students will carry on with them throughout life!
