17 year old driver dies in two vehicle collision on BG Pkwy For unknown reasons, 2006 Chevrolet HHR crossed median and hit 2009 Fusion head on. Driver of HHR pronounced dead at the scene. Driver of Fusion treated at Hardin Memorial Hospital. The accident is still under investigation by KSP Reconstructionist Scott Rafferty. Click on headline for complete story By Tpr Jeffrey Gregory, Public Information Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Elizabethtown, KY (ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - Mon 6 Nov 2017) - Kentucky State Police Post 04 Troopers worked a two vehicle fatality accident on the Bluegrass Parkway Sunday afternoon. On November 5, 2017 at approximately 3:38pmET, Troopers responded to the 0 mile marker on the Bluegrass Parkway just East of Elizabethtown on a report of a two vehicle accident. Connor Sheehan (17) of Bowling Green, KY, was operating a 2006 Chevrolet HHR on the Westbound on-ramp of the Bluegrass Parkway traveling towards I-65. Brenda Watkins (57) of Lexington, KY, was operating a 2009 Ford Fusion and traveling Eastbound on the Bluegrass Parkway ramp headed towards Northbound I-65. For unknown reasons the vehicle driven by Sheehan crossed the median, overturned, and struck Watkins's vehicle head on. Connor Sheehan was pronounced dead at the scene by the Hardin Co. Coroner's Office. Brenda Watkins was transported by Hardin County EMS to Hardin Memorial Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and alcohol is not believed to be a contributing factor. The accident is still under investigation by KSP Trooper/Reconstructionist Scott Rafferty.
