LW Baseball picked to finish 4th in MSC Baseball Preseason Poll Other top rankings: Campbellsville (1), Cumberlands (2), Georgetown (3); Cumberland (TN) tied with Lindsey Wilson for 4th. Click on headline for complete story By Charles Balcom, Assistant Sports Information Director, LWC COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson baseball team was picked to finish tied for fourth place in the conference in 2018 according to the Mid-South Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll released by the conference office on Friday, November 3, 2017. The Blue Raiders are tied with Cumberland (TN) in the poll as both squads received 31 voting points from the head coaches. Coaches' were not allowed to vote for their own teams in the ranking. Campbellsville (KY) is the favorite to win the conference in 2018 after garnering 48 total voting points and six of eight first-place votes. The Tigers won the regular season title a year ago. Cumberlands (KY) finished second in the poll with two first-place votes and 31 voting points. The Patriots won the MSC Tournament title in 2017. Georgetown earned 32 points to finish third in the poll, one point ahead of Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland. Pikeville (KY) and Shawnee State (Ohio) are slated to finish sixth and seventh in the poll after garnering 19 and 14 points, respectively. Rounding out the poll in eighth place is conference newcomer Kentucky Christian. The Knights will compete in the 2018 season after a 23-year hiatus.
