Bro. Bobby Lee Burden, 75, Centertown, KY (1942-2017)

He was the father of Assistant ACES Principal Donna (Troy) Young, of Columbia, KY, and leaves several grandchildren in Adair County, KY. Bro. Burden was pastor of Tabernacle of Joy Full Gospel in Morgantown, KY, for 15 years and was a self-employed logger. He was a Tee-Ball, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball coach for over 20 years and boys and girls Jr. Pro Basketball coach for several years. He also served in the United States Army.

Bro. Bobby Lee Burden, 75, of Centertown, KY passed away Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be at 1pmCT, Saturday, October 28, 2017 at William L. Danks Funeral Home, 222 N Lafayette Street, Beaver Dam, KY, with Bro. Delbert Dockery officiating. Burial will follow in Daugherty Family Cemetery in Centertown, KY, with full military honors by Ohio County Honor Guard. Friends may visit with Bro. Burden's family from 4pm until 8pmCT, Friday, October 27, 2017, and after 9amCT until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home.

He was born July 28, 1942 in McLean County, KY. He was the son of the late Leslie Estill Burden & Ora Fern Scalf Burden. He died Wednesday, October 25, 2017, in Centertown, Ohio County, KY, at the age 75 years, two months, and 27 days.

Bro. Burden was pastor of Tabernacle of Joy Full Gospel in Morgantown, KY, for 15 years and was a self-employed logger. He was a Tee-Ball, Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball coach for over 20 years and boys and girls Jr. Pro Basketball coach for several years. He also served in the United States Army.

Bro. Burden was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Lou Ellen Wade, Judy Krise and Mary Brown.

Survivors include:
  • His wife: Gennie Mae Putman Burden of Centertown, KY

  • One son: Timothy Wayne (Sheila) Burden of Centertown, KY

  • One daughter: Donna (Troy) Young of Columbia, KY

  • Nine grandchildren: Thomas Lee Burden, Edward Blaine Burden, Samantha Gail Burden, Elizabeth Marie Owens, James Michael Owens III, Lauren Ashley Owens, Audrey Young, Sadie Young and Silas Young
