The Adair County Elementary School STLP (technology) Club sponsored the 2017 Doggie Dash on Saturday, October 21, 2017, to benefit the Green River Animal Shelter. This fun run/walk went around the Adair County Schools Campus and was 1.2 miles long. There were over 35 participants, and many others who donated. In addition, 15 STLP members and their families were on hand to coordinate the event. The event raised approximately $420, plus four 20 lbs. bags of dog food that were given to the animal shelter that day. STLP members would like to thank all participants and those who supported this event. Mr. Roger Firkins with the Green River Animal Shelter was in attendance to accept the donation on behalf of the shelter with his shelter puppy, "Cheeseburger."
