COLUMBIA, KY - (Mon 23 Oct 2017) – For the third week in a row, the Lindsey Wilson football team is ranked No. 5 in the NAIA Coaches' Top 25 Poll, officials from the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders collected 286 total voting points from the panel of national raters and have now been ranked in 59-consecutive polls dating back to the first week of the 2013 season.

Lindsey Wilson (7-0, 3-0 MSC Bluegrass) is coming off a 44-41 Homecoming weekend victory over No. 22 Cumberland (Tenn.) on Saturday. The Blue Raiders led 34-14 at halftime and 44-21 heading into the fourth quarter, but the Phoenix scored 20-unanswered points in the final frame before the Blue Raiders successfully moved the chains three times in the final three minutes to kill the clock and secure the win.

The top 12 teams all went unchanged from the previous poll. Defending champion Saint Francis (IN) continues to hold the top spot with 340 voting points and all 15 first-place votes. Baker (KS) is second at 327 points, followed by Reinhardt (GA) with 312. Morningside (Iowa) is the final team ahead of LWC with 303 points at No. 4.

Nine teams reside within the poll with unbeaten records.

Joining the Blue Raiders from the Mid-South Conference Bluegrass Division in the poll is Georgetown (KY) at No. 9, Campbellsville (KY) at No. 20 and Cumberland (TN) at No. 22. Both Georgetown and Campbellsville are unbeaten on the year and pay visits to Blue Raider Stadium during the final two weeks of the regular season. Up next for Lindsey Wilson is a trip to McKenzie, Tennessee to take on Bethel (Tenn.) on Oct. 28.
