Blair Park and Rec Center Board recommends Stephen Baker By Linda Waggener The Columbia Adair County Parks and Recreation board met Thursday October 5, 2017 at the Blair Center, 901 Hudson St., Columbia, KY. The vote was unanimous for Stephen Baker to be recommended to the mayor and city council to fill the board position vacated at the retirement of Debbie Yates. Baker will be placed on the November 2017 city council agenda for recommendation. The board heard discussion from members about a needed adjusted meeting time to allow for work schedules now that school has started. A vote was taken toward changing the monthly meeting day from the first Thursday to the first Wednesday at 5 p.m. the vote was unanimous for the new meeting day and time. In other business, grant status was discussed for lighting around the walking path and new floor covering inside the gym. Work on both grants is progressing.
