He was a native of Jamestown, KY and a resident of the city at the time of his death in Jamestown. He was a member of a large, respected Russell County, KY, family, the son of the late Eura (Elmore) Garner & Johnny M. Garner. His wife, Frances Bell Garner, survives. He leaves 10 direct living descendants.

Roy Marshall Garner,77, of Jamestown, KY passed away on Tuesday October 3, 2017, at his home.

Funeral services for Roy Marshall Garner will be at H.E. Pruitt Memory Chapel, 202 N Main Street, Jamestown, KY, on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 11amCT, with Bro. Wendell Roberts officiating. Friends may visit on Friday, October 6, 2017, after 5pmCT, at the funeral home. Burial in the Dixon Cemetery, Dixon Cemetery Road, Jamestown, KY.


Roy Marshall Moore, Russell Co., KY (1939-2017)

Roy was born in Jamestown, Russell County, KY on December 11, 1939. He was a son of the late Eura (Elmore) & Johnny M. Garner. He died Tuesday, October 3, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 77 years, nine months and 22 days.

Roy is survived by:
  • His wife: Frances (Bell) Garner, of Jamestown, KY

  • Two daughters: Marsha (Billy) Conner, of Indianapolis, IN; and Marleane (Mark) Robinson, of Lawrenceburg, KY

  • Sister Linda Sue (Billy) Patrick, of Jamestown, KY

  • Five grandchildren

  • Three great grandchildren

  • And a host of nieces and nephews

  • He was preceded in death by his parents, Eura (Elmore) & Johnny M. Garner; and a nephew, Jerry Kent Patrick

The family request memorial donations to the VIPS (Visually Impaired Preschool Services) or St. Jude's Children Hospital and can be made at the funeral home.
