Four occupants of 2 vehicles injured in 3 vehicle chain collision Four of five occupants taken to TJ Health/Columbia, KY. Accident occurred approximately 20 minutes following injury collision on Burkesville Street. By Ofc. Josh Brockman Public Information Officer Columbia Police Department, Chief Jason Cross At approximately 5:11pmCT, Friday, September 15, 2017, Columbia Police Officers were dispatched to Campbellsville Road to a reported three vehicle injury collision. The collision occurred when a 2007 Pontiac car,driven by 26-year-old Brian Guffey had stopped awaiting traffic to make a left hand turn into Shady Lane. Guffey was accompanied by passenger 24-year-old Monica McElyen. Guffey's vehicle was struck in the rear by a 1998 Chevrolet Pickup driven by 36-year-old David Brockman operating a 1998 Chevrolet truck. The impact knocked Guffey's vehicle into the southbound lane of Campbellsville Street resulting in them being struck a second time. They were struck head-on by a 2005 GMC truck operated by 56-year-old Richard Shelton of Columbia, KY, and his passenger 55 year old Kathy Shelton. The collision resulted in the occupants of the 2007 Pontiac, Brian Guffey and Monica McElyen; and of the 2005 GMC truck, Richard Shelton and Kathy Shelton, being transported by Adair County EMS to TJ Health of Columbia, KY.
