Unbeaten LWC Men's soccer hosts Roosevelt Sat 16 Sep 2017 Series between two schools is tied 1-1 Click on headline for complete story By Anthony Latessa News from Lindsey Wilson College COLUMBIA, KY - The No. 14-ranked Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team hosts Roosevelt (IL) at a2pmCT, Saturday, September 16, 2017, at Lindsey Wilson's Walter S. Reuling Stadium, 151 Holloway Drive, Columbia, KY . The Blue Raiders (3-0) defeated Union (KY) on September 9, 2017, in their home opener 2-1. Lindsey Wilson took a 1-0 lead in the 49th minute after a Bulldog own goal. Mutaya Mwape scored his team-leading fourth goal to increase the Blue Raider lead to 2-0 in the 80th minute off a Stephane Dasse cross. Union answered immediately in the 81st minute to cut the lead to 2-1. Reigning Mid-South Conference Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week William Diaz stopped five shots. Roosevelt (1-4) fell to North Park (IL) 2-1 in double-overtime on September 9, 2017. It was the second straight double-overtime loss for the Lakers. Jose Garcia scored the lone Laker goal on a penalty kick in the 80th minute. Roosevelt has lost its last four games being outscored by a margin of 10-3. Saturday's matchup is just the third meeting between the two schools. Each team has won a game in the series. Last season, Roosevelt picked up a 3-2 victory in overtime. Lindsey Wilson took a 2-1 lead in the 66th minute before Roosevelt tied the game in the 90th minute on a penalty kick. The Lakers scored in the 100th minute for the victory.
