Adair Fiscal Court 12 Sep 2017 - Historic Courthouse actions By Ed Waggener Three actions were taken by Adair Fiscal Court at its Tue 12 Sep 2017 Session which relate to the historic courthouse: Court gives Adair Heritage Association approval to spotlight "Squarecrows." The request presented by Mary Ann Loy was unanimously approved following a motion by Magistrate Sammy Baker (3), with a second by Greg Caldwell. The approval allows the Squarecrow committee to plug into the county's electrical system. Court gives the Columbia/Adair County Chamber of Commerce permission to place a sign on the courthouse lawn. Mary Ann Loy said that it would show directions to the 44 countries represented by 100 International students at Lindsey Wilson College, to help make them feel more at home here. "It's similar to the signs to the hometowns in "M*A*S*H" the old Tv show. The sign in the camp pointed to hometowns of characters in the Tv serial," she said. This request, too, was approved unanimously on a motion by Magistrate Perry Reeder, with a second by Greg Caldwell. Court gives permission for Malvina Farkle volunteers from Lindsey Wilson College to paint the curb around the Historic Courthouse. Mary Ann Loy said that the college students will furnish the labor, and asked that the Court furnish the paint. This action was approved unanimously on a motion by Sammy Baker with a second by Greg Caldwell. This story was posted on 2017-09-14 14:29:24
