Norman Junior McQueen, 95, Kings Mountain, KY (1922-2017)

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a farmer and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Samuel D. & Rebecca Brooks McQueen. and the widower of Ella B. McQueen, his wife of 74 years. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family. He leaves 17 direct living descendants.

Norman Junior McQueen, age 95, of Wickliff, KY formerly of Kings Mountain, KY passed away on Sunday September 10, 2017 at his daughter's residence.

Funeral Services will be held 12pmNoonCT/1pmET, Saturday September 16, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel, 142 KY Hwy 49, Liberty, KY, with Bro. Linville Hatter officiating. Burial will be in the K.P. Hall Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Casey County Honor Guard. Visitation will be held at 9amCT/10amET, Saturday, September 16, 2017 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel.

Norman Junior McQueen was born in Kings Mountain, KY on April 5, 1922 a son of the late Samuel D. & Rebecca Brooks McQueen. He died passed away on Sunday September 10, 2017 at the age of 95 years,

Junior was the widower of Ella B. McQueen, his wife of 74 years, who passed away on April 12, 2016.

Junior was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII, a farmer and a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Carolyn and (Freddie) Simmons of Wickliff, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Robbie and Michael McQueen, Gina Newton, Pam Frensley, Herbie and Adrian Simmons

  • Nine great grandchildren: John, Laura, Luke and Levi McQueen, Matthew Newton, Josh, Shelby and Walker Simmons and Zachary Frensley

  • Two great great gandchildren: Bailey Simmons and Kale Newton
Besides his parents and spouse he was preceded in death by one son: Robert McQueen; nine brothers: Layman, Carl, Gilmer, Ancil, Cecil, Sebert, Russell, Earl and Paul McQueen; and two sisters: Rowena Morgan and Sylvia Merklebach.
