Roger Dale Withers, 69, Campbellsville, KY (1948-2017)

He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of Taylor County, KY. He was the son of the late Arno & Jane Eades Withers, and later came to know his late step-mother, Marie Withers, as "Mom." His wife, Linda Chelf Withers, survives. He was a truck driver. He drove for Pyles Concrete for the 10 years prior to his retirement. While he was able, he liked to fish and enjoyed spending time with his dogs.

Roger Dale Withers, 69 years, four months and one day of age of Campbellsville, KY, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at his home after a lengthy illness.

Funeral Service for Roger Dale Withers will be Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 1pmCT/2pmET, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY, with Bro. Hugh Withers officiating. Serving as casket bearers will be Brent Vaught, Ben Vaught, Davy Withers, Jr., Dale Burton, Scott Chelf and Kevin Bryant. His grandchildren, Mariah Johnson, Jayden Padilla and Noah Padilla will be honorary casket bearers. Burial to will follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation was 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

He was born on May 6, 1948 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Arno & Jane Eades Withers. His mother died when he was just one-year old and he later came to know his late step-mother, Marie Withers, as "Mom". He died Thursday, September 7, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 69 years, four months, and one day.

A truck driver, he drove for Pyles Concrete for the 10 years prior to his retirement. While he was able, he liked to fish and enjoyed spending time with his dogs. More recently he enjoyed spending time on Facebook.

Roger is survived by his wife, Linda Chelf Withers and the following:
  • Two sons: Jeff Padilla and wife Rhonda of Russell Springs, KY; and Steve Cave and wife Maren of Atlanta, GA

  • Three grandchildren: Mariah Johnson, Jayden Padilla, Noah Padilla

  • SiblingsL Shirley Withers, Larry Withers and wife, Linda; David Withers and wife, Rosemary; Judy Chenoweth and husband, Jason; and Clara Withers, all of Russell Springs, KY
