Flash Flood Watch in effect here due to Tropical Storm Harvey

A Flash Flood Watch is in effect which means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding.

ColumbiaMagazine.com core readership counties are under a flash flood watch from later today, 31 Aug 2017 through late tomorrow night, 1 Sept 2017.

Local flooding will be possible, especially late tonight into Friday morning, because of moisture associated with Tropical Storm Harvey, bringing heavy rain throughout the region.

Advice is to monitor forecasts and be prepared to take action should high water Warnings be issued. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely to occur. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain.

Fall bouquet captured before Harvey's rain reached us

2017-08-31 - Ewing Road, Casey County, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, ColumbiaMagazine.com(c).
Here's a bouquet to brighten a rainy day in south central Kentucky. With this region now coming under a Flash Flood Watch and the country monitoring what Tropical Storm Harvey is doing, this photo is shared for a bit of sunshine. Prayers and contributions continue for those families suffering from the effects of Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana. -- LW, 30 Aug 2017.
