Avis Glaydelle (Dale) Bishop Lile, Green Co. KY (1934-2017)

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Little Flock Baptist Church in Louisville, and was a homemaker. She was the daughter of the late Vonnie Earl Bishop & Mary Sissie Curry Bishop and the widow of Ward Allen Lile, her husband of 52 years. She leaves 33 direct living descendants. Her final resting place wil be in Liletown, Green County, KY.

The funeral services for Mrs. Avis Glaydelle "Dale" Bishop Lile will be conducted at 5pmCT, Friday, August 25, 2017 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial to follow in the Liletown Cemetery. Bro. Rodney Alexander officiating. Visitation is requested after Friday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home until time of the funeral service.



Pallbearers: Joshua Lile, Travis Sturgill, Mark Sturgill, Nicholas Lile, Brandon Lile, Blake Lile, Wesley Lile, and Cody Lile.

Mrs. Avis Glaydelle "Dale" Bishop Lile of Louisville, KY, daughter of the late Vonnie Earl Bishop & Mary Sissie Curry Bishop, was born on Tuesday, April 10, 1934 in Green County and departed this life on Thursday, April 24, 2017 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville. She was 83 years, 4 months, and 14 days of age.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ, was a member of the Little Flock Baptist Church in Louisville, and was a homemaker.

She united in marriage to Ward Allen Lile on January 3, 1951 who preceded her in death on May 13, 2003.

Survivors include:
  • Three sons and two daughters-in-law: Larry & Sue Lile of Bardstown, KY; Steven & Diane Lile of Louisville, KY; and Joe Lile of Bardstown, KY

  • A daughter & son-in-law: Pamela and Keith Sturgill of Louisville, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren
  • Sixteen great-grandchildren

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
Mrs. Lile was also preceded in death by a daughter: Deborah Gayle Lile; a son: Scott Lile; two brothers and three sisters.

The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the American Heart Association, Lupus Foundation, American Diabetes Association, or the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, which can be made at the funeral home.

The Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S Main Street, Greensburg, KY is in charge of arrangements.
