Lora Mae Sallee Dudgeon, 79, Taylor County, KY (1938-2017)

She was a native of Taylor County, and a resident of Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the time of her passing in Columbia, Adair County, KY. She was a devout Christian and was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church, in Campbellsville, KY. Her career at Fruit of the Loom spanned 38 years. She was a member of a large, old line family, the daughter of the late William Arthur & Mary Anna Murrell Sallee; with Lora Mae Salle Dudgeon's passing just two of their nine children survive. She leaves 43 direct living descendants, including children and grandchildren in Columbia, Campbellsville, and elsewhere.

Lora Mae Dudgeon, of Campbellsville, KY, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 in Columbia, KY.

The funeral for Lora Mae Dudgeon will be Sunday, August 20, 2017, at 12pmCT/1pmET, at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home, 503 E Main Street, Campbellsville, KY officiated by Bro. Logan Sallee, Jr. with entombment to follow at Campbellsville Memorial Gardens, 700 Old U.S. 68, Campbellsville, KY. Casket bearers are Patrick Hunt, Chris Dudgeon, Brandon Dudgeon, Jeffrey Bennett, Kenson Skaggs, and Patrick Skaggs. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at Lyon-DeWitt-Berry Funeral Home.

She was born, August 13, 1938, Lora Mae Sallee. She was the daughter of the late William Arthur & Mary Anna Murrell Sallee. She died Thursday, August 17, 2017, in Columbia, KY, at the age of 79 years and four days of age.

Besides her parents she was predeceased by two daughters, Lora Rayetta Hicks and Leisha Gail Barke as well as a grandson, Casey Bennett, and her brothers and sisters, Atheol Milby, Maurice Sallee, Logan Sallee, William Edward Sallee, Jewel Cox and Delores Sallee.

She had worked for Fruit of the Loom for 38 years and was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church.

She is survived by:
  • Two daughters and two sons: Patricia Milby & her husband David of Tennessee; Darrell Dudgeon & his wife Carol and Joanna Bennett and her husband Stacie, and William Michael Dudgeon and his wife Tammy, all of Columbia, KY

  • One sister: Mary Elizabeth Vance of Greensburg, KY

  • A brother: Damon Sallee of Campbellsville, KY

  • Thirteen grandchildren: Lorie Hicks, Tracy Hicks, Kenson Skaggs, Krishonda Luster, Shyler Berry, Brandon Dudgeon, Jeffrey David Bennett, Samantha Brown, Christopher Michael Dudgeon, Kimberly Hope Cook, April Hunt and Courtney Montes

  • Twenty-six great grandchildren.
