ACES minority parent representative, SBDM Election 15 Aug 2017 Deadline for nominations is 3pmCT, Mon 14 Aug 2017 Click on headline for complete story By Steve Burton ACES Principal Adair County Elementary School, 870 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY, is taking nominations for a minority SBDM parent member. Deadline for nominations is 3pmCT, Monday, August 14, 2017. Minority is defined as "American Indian; Alaskan native; African-American; Hispanic; including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central or South American origings; Pacific Islander; or other ethnic group underrepresented in the school." KRS 160.345 (1)(a) Eligible candidates must have a child enrolled or pre-registered to attend the school for the year they will be serving on the school council. Qualifications: A minority parent shall be a parent, step parent, foster parent or legal guardian of a child attending the school during the council member's term of office. Parents may nominate themselves or another parent.
