Adair County Elementary School, 870 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY, is taking nominations for a minority SBDM parent member. Deadline for nominations is 3pmCT, Monday, August 14, 2017.



Minority is defined as "American Indian; Alaskan native; African-American; Hispanic; including persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central or South American origings; Pacific Islander; or other ethnic group underrepresented in the school." KRS 160.345 (1)(a) Eligible candidates must have a child enrolled or pre-registered to attend the school for the year they will be serving on the school council.

Qualifications: A minority parent shall be a parent, step parent, foster parent or legal guardian of a child attending the school during the council member's term of office.

Parents may nominate themselves or another parent. Elections will be held 7am-3pmCT, August 15, 2017, at Adair County Elementary School, 870 Indian Drive, Columbia, KY. - Steve Burton, Principal
