Green County Grand Jury returns indictments Wed 2 Aug 2017

Indictments brought against 13 individuals from Greensburg, Magnolia, Hodgenville and New Haven, KY, on charges including wanton endangerment, assault, burglary, possession, and criminal abuse.

NOTE: Indictments are considered formal charges. An indictment is not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by indictment is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding.

The Green County, KY Circuit Court grand jury, Greensburg, KY, returned indictments against the following individuals on Wednesday, 2 August 2017:


  • James E. Cantrell (03/24/1949), KY 566, Magnolia, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00055. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Count 2 - Assault, 4th degree, minor injury. Bond set at $10,000 full cash, no violations of the law, no use of drugs or alcohol, no firearms, no contact with complaining witness.

  • Glenetta M. Shoffner (07/24/1976), New Haven Rd., New Haven, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00048-001. Charged with 10 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Counts 3-4 - Wanton endangerment. Count 5 - TBUT all others $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 6 - Leaving scene of accident-failure to render aid or assistance. Count 7 - Possession of burglary tools. Count 8 - Drug paraphernalia - buy/possess. Count 9 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Count 10 - Persistent felony offender. Bond set at $1,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Andrew W. Gray (06/14/1987), S. Walters Ave., Hodgenville, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00048-002. Charged with 6 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Burglary, 3rd degree. Count 3 - TBUT all others $500 or more but under $10,000. Count 4 - Leaving scene of accident-failure to render aid or assistance. Count 5 - Possession of burglary tools. Count 6 - Drug paraphernalia - buy/possess. Bond set at $1,000 full cash, no contact with complaining witness, no violations of the law, no use of drugs or alcohol.

  • Linda M. Jackson (09/16/1967), Bramlett Kemp Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-002. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Marijuana cultivation - five or more plants, 1st offense, while in possession of a firearm. Count 2 - Trafficking in marijuana (8oz to <5lbs) 1st offense, while in possession of a firearm. Bond set at $2,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Phillip C. Jackson (02/06/1961), Bramlett Kemp Road, Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00049-001. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Marijuana cultivation five or more plants, 1st offense, while in possession of a firearm. Count 2 - Trafficking in marijuana (8oz to <5lbs) 1st offense, while in possession of a firearm. Bond set at $2,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Phillip C. Jackson (02/06/1961), Bramlett Kemp Road, Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00050. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession of a handgun by a convicted felon. Bond set at $2,000 full cash, no use of drugs or alcohol, no violations of the law.

  • Joe Mays (10/05/1989), Hwy 88, Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00044. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Criminal abuse, 1st degree, victim under 12. Bond set at $40,000/10%, no contact with minor children except as juvenile court allows.

  • Ronald Curry, Jr. (12/18/1991), W. Rhudes Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00045. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Perjury, 1st degree. Count 2 - Persistent felony offender, 2nd degree. Bond set at $500 cash.

  • Cynthia A. Hawkins (06/21/1968), Peabody Loop, Coxs Creek, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00046. Charged with 4 counts. Count 1 - Possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (methamphetamine). Count 2 - Possession of controlled substance, 3rd degree, drug unspecified. (Amended from Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense, drug unspecified) Count 3 - Drug paraphernalia-buy/possess. Count 4 - Operating motor vehicle under influence alcohol/drugs/etc .08, 1st offense. Bond set at $1,000 cash, no alcohol/drug use.

  • Jewell L. Dotson (03/12/1974), Hall Cemetery Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00047. Charged with 4 counts. Counts 1-2 - Wanton endangerment, 1st degree. Counts 3-4 - Assault, 4th degree, domestic violence, minor injury. Bond set at $15,000 cash, no contact with victims, no firearms.

  • James W. Oswald (02/22/1983), Legion Park Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00051. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Possession of controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (mehtamphetamine). Bond set at $1,000 cash.

  • Joseph M. Hash (11/06/1972), St. John Church Rd., Elizabethtown, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00052. Charged with 2 counts. Count 1 - Failure to comply with sex offender registration, 1st offense. Count 2 - Registered sex offender resident restrictions 2nd or greater offense. Bond set at $1,000 cash, comply with sex offender registration.

  • Eric Harris (06/21/1977), S. Public Square, Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00053. Charged with 1 count. Count 1 - Sexual abuse, 1st degree. Bond set at $2,000 cash, no contact with victim.

  • Darrell W. Morrison (05/06/1963), Kountry Korner Rd., Greensburg, KY Indictment No. 17-CR-00054. Charged with 8 counts. Count 1 - Burglary, 2nd degree. Counts 2-3 - Assault, 3rd degree - police/probation officer. Count 4 - Resisting arrest. Counts 5-6 - Terroristic threatening, 3rd degree. Count 7 - Criminal trespass, 1st degree. Count 8 - Criminal mischief, 3rd degree. Bond set at $20,000/10%, no contact with premises, no contact with Leslie T.
