By Easton Bryant The Bull Run Charity MusicFest raised $15,000 last year for our community and we'd love to see a number like that again! The mission isn't to change the world, but to give a families in our community a helping hand when they need it most. BRCMF started in 2010 as an event to help the Relay for Life team of Sarah Irvin Gardner. Since then, it has become an annual event that has raised over $70,000 for charity. 100% of proceeds stay local for those in need in our community. Out of respect for their circumstances, funds are given to individual and family beneficiaries privately. These gifts are dispersed throughout the year by a diverse group of people who are attuned to needs in Adair County. Bull Run Charity has made significant contributions to these local organizations: Adair County Schools Family Resource Centers, The Agape House, and J.O.Y. Ministries. We love the vision of these groups and they do great works in our community. The past year's beneficiaries include various individuals and families who had missed extended days of work due to illness or injury as well as victims of house fires. Bull Run Charity provided meals to a family who suffered a devastating loss and provided a wheelchair ramp to an individual who was transitioning from long term care to home after a evastating diagnosis. The examples could continue, but the point is if you contribute to Bull Run Charity, that contribution WILL make a positive impact in our community. BRCMF merchandise is for sale at both North Century Pharmacy and Century Medicines in Columbia. If you're thinking of donating toward the auction, there's still time and items are gladly accepted! All musicians involved are donating their time and talents at no cost. Come out and support this initiative that helps your friends, families, and neighbors throughout the year.
