Wilbert (Curly) Jessie, Adair County, KY (1938-2017)

Mr. Jessie was a founding member of the Glensfork Community Church and he was the owner of Jessie's Logging in Columbia for 32 years. He was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Adair County at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Fred & Bessie England Jessie. His wife Norma Jean Grider Aaron Jessie, survives.

Wilbert "Curly" Jessie, age 78 years, of Columbia, KY passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at 10:29amCT, at TJ Health Columbia.

Funeral service with Bro. Jimmy Bunch officiating, will be Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. Interment will be at Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 25, 2017 after 3pmCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.

He was born November 28, 1938 in Metcalfe County, KY. He was the son of the late Fred & Bessie England Jessie. He died Sunday, July 23, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 78 years, seven months, and 25 days.

He was preceded in death by one son Randy Jessie, one brother Fred Jessie Jr. and one sister Vonnie Mae Walls.

He is survived by his wife Norma Jean Grider Aaron Jessie of Columbia, KY.

Survived by:
  • Ten children: Nenia Dykes and husband "Tangle" of Glensfork, KY; Beth Lawless of Columbia, KY; Roger Aaron of Columbia, KY; Sharon Kelsay and husband Jimmy of Glensfork, KY; Terry Aaron and Lisa of Fairplay, KY; Doug Aaron and wife Debbie of Greensburg, KY; Debbie Wilson and husband Steve of Indiana; Lynn Chowning and husband Jim of Indiana; Sherri Patton and husband Richie of Indiana; Sandy Padgett and husband Fred of Indiana.

  • One brother: Donnie Jessie and wife Dean of Columbia, KY

  • Two sisters: Lois Sexton of Columbia, KY and Ziola Garrett of Glasgow, KY

  • Numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • And a host of other family and friends
Mr. Jessie was a founding member of the Glensfork Community Church and he was the owner of Jessie's Logging in Columbia for 32 years.
