Hester Dell Grider Blankenship, 83, Russell Co., KY (1933-2017)

She was a member of a prominent South Central Kentucky family. She was the widow of Randall Blankenship. She leaves five direct living descendants. She worked in the Soda Shop at Grider Drug and was a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

Hester Dell (Grider) Blankenship, 83, died Saturday, July 22, 2017, at the Taylor Regional Hospital in Campbellsville, KY.

Funeral services for Hester Blankenship will be at 11amCT, Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. Daryl Coe and Donnie Wilkerson officiating. Visitation is 5pm-8pmCT, Monday, July 24, 2017, and after 8amCT, Tuesday. Interment will be in the Bethlehem Cemetery, 979 W Hwy 80, Russell Springs, KY. Pallbearers: Clint Blankenship, Donnie Wilkerson, David Payne, Trey Wilkerson, Greg Grider, and Eric Grider.

She was born September 30, 1933 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of Loren C. and Ruby M. Conover Grider. She died Saturday, July 22, 2017, in Campbellsville, Taylor County, KY, at the age of 83 years, nine months, and 22 days.

She worked in the Soda Shop at Grider Drug and was a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Blankenship, and one brother, Leon Grider. Survivors are:
  • Three children: Rhonda (Donnie) Wilkerson, Jamestown, KY; Tammy (David) Payne, Campbellsville, KY; and Clint Blankenship, Charleston, SC

  • Two grandchildren: Kendra Benningfield and Trey Wilkerson

  • One brother: Kermit (Hilda) Grider, Columbia, KY
