Susan Carol Smith Shipp departed this life Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at the St. Mary and Elizabeth Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral services for Susan Carol Shipp will be conducted 1pmCT, Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Foster-Toler- Curry Funeral Home, 209 W Court Street, Greensburg, KY, with burial in the Bridgewater/Groves/Caldwell Cemetery. Visitation will be 11amCT, until the funeral hour at 1pmCT, Wednesday at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home in Greensburg.



Pallbearers: Earl Barnett, Donnie Williams, Frankie Calhoun, James Hendrickson, Sam Embry and Robert Mills

Honorary Pallbearers: Dale Ford, Ricky Groves, Billie Jean Mitchell and Charles Ford.

Susan Carol Smith Shipp was born December 3, 1951, in Green County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Boyce T. Smith & Rosie Lee Groves Smith. She departed this life Wednesday, July 12, 2017 in Louisville, Jefferson Co., KY, at the age of 65 years, seven months and nine days.

She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers: Freddie Lee Smith and Kim Alan Smith and grandparents: Eugene and Winnifred Groves.

She is survived by:
  • One son: Jason Patterson of Louisville, KY

  • Two sisters: Julia Hurd of Erie Pennsylvania; and Darlene and her husband Steve Foster of Atlanta, GA

  • Five grandchildren: Jacyia, Heaven, Jayanna, Jaelee and Jason, Jr.

  • Three nieces: Christy Davis, Kasaundra Henry and Yvonne Gillon

  • One nephew: Dylan Smith

  • and a host of relatives and friends
