Josephine "Joie" Willis, 85, passed away July 14, 2017. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Hurley Funeral Home, 22 West Douglas Avenue, Petersburg, IL in Petersburg, IL, from 9am to 11amCT. A graveside service will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Tallula, IL, with Pastor Terry Sims officiating. The family has requested that everyone who attends dresses in casual attire.



She was born August 15, 1931. She was the daughter of the late John & Mary Goodin of Columbia, Adair County, KY. She died Friday, July 14, 2017, in Illinois, at the age of 85 years, 10 months, and 30 days.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son Jeff, and infant daughter Paula Jo.

She is survived by:
  • Sons: Mike (Shirley) Willis, and Jackie (Sheila) Willis

  • Daughter-in-law: Karen Willis

  • Several grandchildren and great grandchildren: David (Jennifer) Willis and children, Ethan, Owen, Austin and Elle; Heather (Bo) Dyer and children, Jordan, Jayden, Jaclynn (Tucker) and daughter Bay Lynn. Amy (John) Measel and children, Alexis and Loretta. Matthew (Jennie) Willis and children, Lillie and Hunter. Jessica (James) and children, Christopher, Shaylynn and Kaylee.
