Edwin Morgan, 89, Jamestown, KY (1927-2017)

Hew was a native of Russell County, whose career years were in Louisville, KY. He had retired from American Standard there. He was a farmer and a highly respected citizen of Russell County. He was the son of the late Everett & Valara Melson Morgan. His wife of over 57 years, Fay Blakey Morgan, survives. He leaves three direct living descendants.

Edwin Morgan, 89, of Jamestown, died Thursday, July 13, 2017 at the Russell County Hospital ER, Russell Springs, KY.

Funeral service for Edwin Morgan will be 11amCT, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Hayes Chapel United Methodist Church, 999 Highway 1058, Jamestown, KY. with Bro. John Blakey and Bro. Kenny Kimbler officiating. Visitation will be 5pm-8pmCT, Friday, July 14, 2017, at the Bernard Funeral Home, 367 N Main Street, Russell Springs, KY; and 9am-11amCT, Saturday at the church. Interment will be in the Blakey Cemetery. Special Music will be by the Hayes Chapel Church Choir.



Pallbearers: Ronald Cochran, Randy Adams, Garrett Lawless Scott Conner, Brook Cochran, and Tyler Cochran.


Edwin Morgan, 89, Jamestown, KY (1927-2017)


He was born September 19, 1927 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late Everett & Valara Melson Morgan. He died Thursday, July 13, 2107, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 89 years, nine months, and 24 days.

He was a farmer and retired from American Standard Co.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Calvin, Eugene, William, and Paul Morgan.

Survivors include his wife of over 57 years, Faye Blakey Morgan, Jamestown, KY and the following:
  • Two children: Julie (Brian) Campbell, Jamestown, KY; Douglas (Julie) Morgan, Nancy, KY

  • One granddaughter: K'LeAnn Morgan, Nancy, KY

  • Three sisters: Rachel Antle, Russell Springs, KY; Christine Antle, Louisville, KY' Marie Hadley, Greensburg, KY

  • Two brothers: Ralph Morgan, Russell Springs, KY; and James Allan Morgan, Jamestown, KY.
