Terry Partin: The passing of a friend

Remembering: Calvin Aaron, 89, Adair County, KY (1927-2017)
Click on headline for complete tribute

By Terry Partin

I knew the name long before I knew the man. Calvin Aaron had earned the friendship and deep respect of my Dad Ray Partin years ago. I came to know Mr. Calvin myself and it was easy to develop a friendship and lasting respect for the man who was a friend to all.

Mr Calvin was a pioneer in agriculture and his commitment

to conservation led others into the age of minimum and no till cropping. His farm today is covered with conservation practices that will protect the soil and continue it's productivity for future generations.

Mr. Calvin loved his Lord and served him every day. He was concerned about his fellow man and always encouraged others to seek God. I loved to listen to Mr. Calvin pray because it was so evident that he was talking with a friend that he knew well.

He leaves behind a wonderful family so enriched by his love and teaching and he also leaves behind so many like me who are so thankful for the experience of knowing him .
