SOMERSET, KY (June 30, 2017) - A contractor for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet will temporarily close a section of KY 379/Hale's Highway, in Russell County to through traffic beginning at mile point 17.5 (KY 3280, French Valley Road) and ending at mile point 19.3 (KY 430/Main Street), Russell Springs, KY, at approximately 7:30am-5pmCT, Monday, July 10 and Tuesday, July 11, 2017.



The closure is necessary for crews to widen cross drains beneath the roadway as they begin a shoulder widening and resurfacing project.


Signed detour routes will be posted:
- Northbound on KY 379 (Esto to Main Street) - Turn right onto KY 3280 (French Valley Road) to U.S. 127 north. Take a left on KY 430 (Lakeway Drive) to reconnect with KY 379.

- Southbound on KY 379 (Main Street to Esto) - Turn left onto KY 430 (Lakeway Drive). Merge right onto U.S. 127 south. Turn right on KY 3280 (French Valley Road) to reconnect with KY 379.
Once the cross drains are completed crews will begin resurfacing KY 379 beginning at mile point 10.8 (KY 55) and ending at mile point 20.3 (U.S. 127). Traffic will be controlled by flaggers during the resurfacing project. Motorists are encouraged to use alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destination.

Work is scheduled to be complete by November 15. The starting date and duration of work may be adjusted for inclement weather or other unforeseeable delays.
