Bessie Faylene Wray, 71, formerly of Columbia and Campbellsville, KY, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Yorktown Healthcare Center in Yorktown, IN.

Graveside service, with burial to follow, will be Thursday, June 15, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with Pastor Marty Ballard officiating.



Bessie Faylene Wray, 71, Yorktown, IN/Columbia, KY native (1945-2017)

She was born October 14, 1945, in Columbia, KY to the late Charles & Mable Burton Blankenship Simpson. She died Sunday, June 11, 2017, in Yorktown, IN, at the age of 71 years, seven months, and 28 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers; L.C. Simpson, Michael "Jr." Lumpkin, Jack Simpson and Marshall Simpson; two sisters; Connie Blankenship and Clemedine Simpson and a grandson; Chase Wray.

Survivors include:
  • One son: Gary (Marlena) Wray of New Castle, IN

  • One daughter: Beverly (Ronnie) Mattingly of Lebanon, KY

  • Half-sister: Janie (Larry) Cole of Michigan

  • Three grandchildren: Lauren Wray, Bren Mattingly, and Jade Mattingly

  • Two great- grandchildren
