KSP arrest Princeton man after shots fired State police troopers arrest Hushton R. Burton after investigating shots fired in parking lot of Princeton Mobile Station. After arrest, suspect alleged to have kicked a window out of police cruiser, after threatening officers. Later, police arrest driver of other car, Jennifer L. Boyd alleging DUI. Note- Charges/allegations are not a finding of guilt. An individual charged by law enforcement is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. By Senior Trooper Jody Cash, Public Informaton Officer Kentucky State Police Post 1, Mayfield, KY KUTTAWA, KY (June 6, 2017) - Troopers arrested a Princeton Man late Saturday night after an argument ended in shots being fired. KSP Post 1 received a call at 10:30pmCT on June 3, 2017, stating shots had been fired in the parking lot of the Mobile gas station near exit 45 of Interstate 24 in Lyon County. Troopers responded to the area and located several witnesses who directed them to a man who was reported to have fired the shots. Initial investigation has shown Hushton R. Burton and Jennifer L. Boyd had been in a verbal argument in the Mobile gas station parking lot. When Ms. Boyd began to leave in her vehicle, Mr. Burton fired two shots from a handgun toward her. There were also two small children in Ms. Boyd's vehicle at the time of the shots being fired. Troopers took Hushton R. Burton, age 33, of Princeton LU, into custody. While in the back seat of the KSP cruiser, Burton threatened the troopers and broke a back window out by kicking it. Burton was charged with three counts of First Degree Wanton Endangerment, Third Degree Criminal Mischief, two counts of Terroristic Threatening, Second Degree Disorderly Conduct, and Resisting Arrest. He was lodged in the Marshall County Jail. During the investigation, Troopers also arrested Jennifer L. Boyd, age 28, of Clarksville, Tennessee. She was charged with Driving Under the Influence, Failure to Notify Address Change to Department of Transportation, and Possession of an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle. She was lodged in the Caldwell County Jail. Kentucky State Police were assisted on scene by the Lyon County Sheriff Department. This story was posted on 2017-06-06 07:27:59
