COLUMBIA, KY. - The Lindsey Wilson men's cross country program has signed Levi Owens for the upcoming 2017-18 season, head coach Nick Wilson announced on Thursday.



Owens joins the Blue Raiders from Cumberland County High School in Burkesville, Kentucky and will compete on both the cross country and track & field teams for Lindsey Wilson.

"Levi will without a doubt make a direct impact on our cross country and track programs immediately out of high school," Wilson said.

In his four seasons of 5K cross country events at Cumberland County, Owens accumulated 17 individual victories, including seven wins during both his junior and senior campaigns. His fastest career 5K time came at the Cross Country Coaches National Youth Championships his junior season when he ran a 16:01.17 to finish in eighth place.

Out of his 52 high school career cross country races, Owens has placed in the top-10 on 38 occasions, and finished in the top-five 30 times.

In track events, Owens has competed in the 800 meters, 1,500 meters, 1,600 meters, 3,000 meters and 3,200 meters. During his senior season alone Owens has racked up a trio of first-place finishes, all coming in the 1,600 meters where his career-best time is 4:44.15.
