Shirley Bolt Garrett, 84, Taylor County, KY/Casey County native (1932-2017)

She professed her faith in the Lord Jesus at an early age and was a faithful member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church for fifty-three years. She had been a Sunday School teacher, a GA leader and a member of the Women's Group and Kitchen Committee. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, quilting and working in her flower garden.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville. Shirley Bolt Garrett of Campbellsville, KY, died at 9:31amET, Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Lexington, KY.

The funeral service will be at 1pmCT/2pmET, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon Avenue, Campbellsville, KY. by Rev. Jim Durham. Burial will be in Cold Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Casey County, KY. Visitation will be 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.

Shirley Bolt Garrett was the daughter of the late George Ellis Bolt & Eva West Bolt. She was born October 14, 1932, in Casey County, KY. She died Saturday, April 29, 2017 in Lexington, Fayette County, KY, at the age of 84 years, six months, and 15 days.

Shirley professed her faith in the Lord Jesus at an early age and was a faithful member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church for fifty-three years. She had been a Sunday School teacher, a GA leader and a member of the Women's Group and Kitchen Committee. She loved spending time with her family and friends, reading, quilting and working in her flower garden.

She was a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom in Campbellsville.

She is survived by:
  • Three sons and two daughters: Randy Garrett and Brent Garrett and wife, Brigitte and Lisa Nelson and husband, Greg of Lexington, KY; Sharon Fowler and husband, Jerry of Lebanon, KY; and Kerry Cundiff and wife, Connie of Liberty, KY

  • One daughter-in-law: Diane Smith and husband, Troy of Campbellsville, KY

  • Fifteen grandchildren

  • Numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews

  • Three brothers and one sister: Howard Bolt of Liberty, KY; Chester Bolt of Indianapolis, IN: Roger Bolt of San Antonio, TX; and Marjorie Linkenhoker of Franklin, IN

  • And many other relatives and friends
She was also preceded in death by a son and daughter, Barry Garrett in 1994 and Tonya Garrett Oliver January 27, 2017; her first great-great-grandchild, Vera Clark and a sister, Freida Davis.
