Red Lick United Methodist Church, 3976 Mosby Ridge Road in Edmonton, will celebrate its Annual Homecoming on the third Sunday in May, 21 May 2017, once again.

Brother Larry Lemmon decided to build excitement each week by having a special theme. Sunday, April 23 the theme was "Waking Up in the Lord!" The congregation was encouraged to come to church wearing pajamas for this special day with the idea that people should Wake Up in the Lord EVERY day. The congregation certainly enjoyed the service and shared a lot of joy! An especially joyous announcement was that Brother Larry and his wife Missy's son Lakota announced that he had been saved Easter Sunday night. His sister Katherine told the congregation last week that she had committed her life to Jesus. What wonderful news!

10amCT, Sunday, April 30, 2017 the theme is "Putting on the Whole Armor of God". The children received a picture to color showing: "The Helmet of Salvation"; "The Sword of the Spirit"; "The Belt of the Truth"; "The Shield of Faith"; "The Sandals of Peace". Everyone is asked to use his or her imagination dressing in a way that represents one or more of these. Last year the congregation demonstrated "The Helmet of Salvation" by wearing hats.

10amCT - Sunday, May 7, 2017 the theme will be "Let Your Light Shine" and everyone is to wear tee shirts that the congregation received from Thrivent Financial when we packed shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Everyone is to focus on giving back by bringing non-perishable food for the J.O.Y. Ministries. This is a group the church has been supporting. Amber Dustin, a Lindsay Wilson student asked the church to support this valuable ministry, and she and her grandfather Larry Hamilton pick up the donated items and deliver them to J.O.Y. Ministries.

10amCT, Sunday, May 14, 2017 the children will present the service in honor of Mother's Day. The theme is "Letting Your Voice Be Heard". Everyone is asked to wear the shirts from the 60th Annual All-Night Singing.

10amCT, Sunday, May 21, 2017 - the church will celebrate its Homecoming. Everyone is encouraged to bring family and friends each week, but especially for the Homecoming. The Glory Road Singers will perform at 10:45 followed by the worship service. After the service the congregation, family and friends will enjoy a delicious meal and lots of games and activities. The church would love to see old friends, new friends and family to come out and enjoy this special celebration. - Chris Lagermann
