LWC Football ranked No. 8 in NAIA Spring Coaches' Top 25 Poll

COLUMBIA, KY - (Mon 10 Apr 2017) - The Lindsey Wilson football team earned a No. 8 ranking in the 2017 Spring NAIA Football Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the national office announced on Monday.

The Blue Raiders received 231 total voting points from the panel of national raters.



It marks the fourth-consecutive poll LWC has collected the No. 8 ranking, dating back to the fall season.

National champion Saint Francis (IN) secured the top spot in the rankings with 314 total voting points and all 14 first-place votes. National runner-up Baker (KS) comes in at No. 2 with 302 points, followed by fellow Mid-South Conference West Division member Reinhardt (GA) at No. 3 with 281 points.

Lindsey Wilson finished the 2016 season with an 11-2 record and a third-consecutive appearance in the NAIA Football Championship Series Playoffs. LWC advanced to the national quarterfinals for the second time in program history, while accumulating the most wins in a single season. The Blue Raiders are currently participating in spring practices.
