Billy Thomas age 84 of Burkesville, KY passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Cumberland County Hospital.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 1pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N Main Street, Burkesville, KY with burial in Burkesville Cemetery. Family requests visitation on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 3pm until 9pmCT, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home.



Billy Thomas, 84, Cumberland County, KY (1932-2017)


Billy was born on May 15, 1932 in Cumberland County, KY. He was the son of the late Rev. J.A. Thomas & Myrtle Lee Thomas. He died Monday, March 20, 2017, in Burkesville, Cumberland County, KY, at the age of 84 years, 10 months, and five days.

He retired from Houchens Industries with over 30 years of service, and later retired from Newcomb Oil Company.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Griffin Thomas, and his siblings, Walter Thomas, Basil Thomas, and Susie Philpott.

Survivors include:
  • One daughter: Lisa Thomas of Burkesville, KY

  • One sister: Norma Lee Schulz of Houston, TX

  • Nieces and nephews: Ava Appleby, Jackie Price, Sharon Philpott Pinner, Teresa Fontana, Nancy Murphy, Evelyn Orton, Hope Schulz, Nancy Schulz Dowdle, Billy Schulz, Emery Thomas, Steve Schulz, Emma June Thomas

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
