Columbia, KY man faces felony domestic assault charge

Sheriff's office says suspect, an Adair Countian, apprehended by Campbellsville Police southbound on New Columbia Road after leaving the scene. Suspect charged also with DUI. Victim treated at Taylor County Regional Hospital.

A Columbia, KY man is facing charges after an alleged assault on a Campbellsville woman early Sunday morning.

Taylor County Sheriff Allen Newton says his Deputy Tim Coppage responded to 103 Ashton Drive, Campbellsville, KY, here 34 year old Mindy Tucker had been injured, allegedly by Dustin Stapleton, 32, of Columbia, KY.



Stapleton had fled the scene prior to the TCSO officers arriving.

Moments later, Stapleton was observed driving southbound on KY 55/New Columbia Road, by Campbellsville Police Officer Daniel Forbus. Forbus stopped the Stapleton vehicle and charged Stapleton with Driving Under the Influence. Sheriff Allen Newton has placed a Felony Domestic Violence charge against Stapleton.

Mindy Tucker was transferred to Taylor County Hospital for treatment of her injuries.
