MSC Basketball Tournament: LWC women face Cumberland U MSC Women's Basketball Tournament Bracket Released; No. 2 seed Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders face Cumberland Next. MSC Women's Basketball Tournament, March 2-5: Lindsey Wilson vs. Cumberland (TN) at 5pmCT/6pmET, on Thursday, March 2, 2017, at the Frankfort Convention Center, 405 Mero Street, Frankfort, KY. By Charles Balcom, Assistant Athletic Director Lindsey Wilson College, Columbia, KY COLUMBIA, KY (Sat 25 Feb 2017) - Officials from the Mid-South Conference released the MSC Women's Basketball Tournament bracket on Saturday evening following the conclusion of regular season conference play. Lindsey Wilson (28-1, 13-1 MSC) is the No. 2 seed in the field and faces seventh-seeded Cumberland (TN) in the quarterfinal round of the conference tournament on Thursday. LWC won both regular season meetings with the Phoenix this year. The Blue Raiders and Shawnee State (Ohio) both captured a share of the MSC regular season crown after finishing with identical conference records. It marks the first time since the 2007-08 season Lindsey Wilson has won the regular season title, and just the third time in program history. Shawnee State was awarded the top seed at the tournament based on tiebreaking criteria. After the two teams only losses came against one another, the Bears had a plus-10 point differential against the Blue Raiders over the two team's regular season matchups to earn the No. 1 seed. The winner between Lindsey Wilson and Cumberland faces the winner of third-seeded Campbellsville (KY) and sixth-seeded Cumberlands (KY). Top-seeded Shawnee State faces eighth-seeded Life (GA) while fourth-seeded Pikeville (KY) faces fifth-seeded Georgetown (Ky.) on the other side of the bracket.
