Cheslee & Jamie Ennis Bloyd, to speak at Greensburg UMC By Dale Curry Cheslee and Jamie Ennis Bloyd are speaking at Greensburg United Methodist Church, 111 W Court Street, at 10amCT, Sunday, February 26, 2017, during the morning worship service. Part of their testimony will involve their son, Paxton Bloyd, and his treatment for Burkitts Lymphoma. This has led to a much greater awareness of childhood cancer treatment and the lack of funding for childhood cancer research. The other part of their testimony involves their work with Childero, an orphanage in northern Uganda. This is a discipleship program which helps 50 orphans. At this orphanage, they teach God's love in Bible clubs, provide food, school fees, basic medical care, shoes, and feminine products for girls so they can go to school and have the same educational opportunities as boys. It is a program that empowers local leaders through seven United Methodist Churches in Northern Uganda. This year Childero is an official partner of Forget the Frock. This program challenges people to buy a Forget the Frock tee-shirt to wear at Easter. Greensburg United Methodist Church has participated in this for a few years and will do this again this year. Guests are invited to hear the Bloyds share how God has been at work in their lives. For more information, please call Greensburg United Methodist Church at 270-932-4462. The church is located at the corner of First and Court streets in downtown Greensburg. This story was posted on 2017-02-20 10:29:06
