Maxine M. Bragg (Sexton), Edmonton, KY (1930-2017)

She was a faithful member of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church since the age of eleven and retired as a cook from the Metcalfe County School System. She was the matriarch of a large highly regarded family, the daughter of the late Cleophus & Zula Monday Sexton and the widow of Lawson Bragg. She leaves 15 direct living descendants.

Maxine Bragg age 87 of Edmonton passed away Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Glenview Healthcare in Glasgow, KY.

Funeral services will be held 1pmCT, Monday, February 20, 2017, at Prices Creek Baptist Church, 1636 Price's Creek Road, Edmonton, KY, located in Western Adair County near the Metcalfe County line. Burial in the Bragg Cemetery, 100 Bragg Cemetery Road, in Western Adair Co, KY. Visitation will be 1pm-8pmCT, Sunday, February 19, 2017, and after 9amCT, Monday at Butler Funeral Home in Edmonton, KY.

She was the daughter of the late Cleophus & Zula Monday Sexton. She was born January 29, 1930. She died Saturday, February 18, 2017, in Glasgow, Barren County, KY, at the age of 87 years, 20 days.

Maxine was a faithful member of the Prices Creek Missionary Baptist Church since the age of eleven and retired as a cook from the Metcalfe County School System.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two daughters: Sharon Bragg of Glasgow, KY; and Kathy Judd and husband Roger of Edmonton, KY

  • Five grandchildren: Zachary (Christa) Judd, Amy (Josh) DeVore, Robin Saltsman, Erin (Aaron) Wallace and Justin Bragg

  • Eight great grandchildren: Kaleb Saltsman, Lane Judd, Jackson DeVore, Allie Judd, Mollie DeVore, Lily Wallace, Samuel DeVore and Ella Wallace

  • A sister Rothydell Bragg of Glasgow, KY

  • A sister-in-law: Edna Sexton, Louisville, KY
  • Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Lawson Bragg; a daughter Connie Bragg; one brother Coy Sexton; and four sisters, Lois Burris, Dorothy Shirley, Delpha Sexton and Ruth Bennett.
