CMS hosts Sweetheart Week events

By Calen McKinney,
Campbellsville Independent Schools

Campbellsville Middle School has been hosting several Sweetheart Week events this week, leading up to the annual semi-formal dance Friday, February 17, 2017.

The school has had dress-up days each day this week. Students must pay $1 each day to participate. All proceeds from the week will go toward the Campbellsville High School band.

Monday was TV and Movie Character Day; Tuesday was Tacky Tourist Day; Wednesday was Dynamic Duo Day; Thursday was Thrift Shop Finds Day; and Friday is a teacher work day, with students dismissed from class.

The school hosted a hallway decorating contest this week, pitting each grade level against each other. The theme is "love," and hallways will be judged on Friday.

The grade with the most dress-up day participation during the week will earn an extra 10 points for the hallway decorating contest.

And the grade level winning the decorating contest will win a week of dress-down days.

The semi-formal dance will end the week. Tickets are on sale now and can also be purchased at the dance.

The dance will be in the school's multi-purpose room from 6 to 7:30pmET. Concessions will be available.

For more information, call the CMS office at (270) 465-5121.
