LWC Wrestling hosts Lindsey Wilson Duals, Fri 27 Jan 2017

The No. 7-ranked Lindsey Wilson wrestling team welcomes four teams to Biggers Sports Center, 360 Spickard Avenue, Columbia, KY, on Friday, January 27, 201y for the Lindsey Wilson Duals. Present on Friday will be Marian (Ind.) and Mid-South Conference members Brewton-Parker (A), No. 11-ranked Life (GA) and St. Andrews (NC).

Lindsey Wilson enters Friday as the winner of its last six dual matches, including two-straight against MSC competition.

The Blue Raiders top the conference and are the last undefeated team in MSC action.


The four rounds of dual matches begin at 9amCT. The Blue Raiders open the day against St. Andrews.

Lindsey Wilson is inactive for round two, which is scheduled for a 10:45 a.m. CT start, but wrestles Brewton-Parker at 12:30 p.m. CT in round three.

The duals conclude with a 2:15 p.m. CT showdown between the Blue Raiders and Life.

LWC is coming off a ninth-place finish at last weekend's Missouri Valley College Invite. Cam Tessari (ranked No. 1 at 157 pounds) blazed through the 157-pound bracket - racking up five victories en route to a championship finish.

Tessari pinned three opponents over two days of action and earned MSC Wrestler of the Week honors for the fourth time this season.

Three Blue Raiders joined Tessari in placing at the MVC Invite. Daniel Leonard (No. 5 at 149) and Rhodes Bell placed sixth at 149 and 174 pounds, respectively, and Diorian Coleman (No. 9 at 165) finished seventh at 165 pounds.

In addition, Colton Gonzalez (No. 9 at 174) and Ameer Daniels fell one victory short of reaching the placement matches at 174 and 285 pounds, respectively.

Life is 4-1 in conference action with victories over Truett-McConnell (GA), Campbellsville (KY), Southeastern (FL) and Reinhardt (GA).

The Running Eagles boast four wrestlers ranked in the top 16 of their respective weight classes, including Dalton Bailey, the top-ranked grappler at 197 pounds.

Brewton-Parker sits at 3-2 in the MSC standings while St. Andrews is only 1-6 against conference opponents.
