Lois Jean Grant, 90, Adair County, KY (1926-2017)

She will be warmly remembered by friends in Columbia, KY. She was the widow of Paul Grant, a very popular Columbia Chevrolet dealer. She was a native of West Virginia. She attended the Lebanon Baptist Church.

Lois Jean Grant age 90 years of Lebanon, KY formerly of Columbia, KY passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2017 at 8:40amCT, at University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Funeral service will be at 12pmNoonCT, Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, with Rev. William R. Davenport officiating. Interment will be in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 11amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.


Lois Jean Grant, 90, Adair County, KY (1926-2017)


She was born on April 20, 1926 in Mingo, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late William & Jamima Pratt Preston. She died Monday, January 23, 2017 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, at the age of 90 years, nine months, and three days.

She was the widow of Paul G. Grant who died in July 1963; he was the former owner of the Chevrolet dealership in Columbia, KY.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Dale Vaughn Grant, in December 2010, and one brother, Loren Preston.

She is survived by:
  • One son: Daryl Grant and his wife, Peggy, of Lebanon, KY

  • One brother: Bill Preston of Indianapolis, IN

  • Two sisters: JoAnn Hudson of Indianapolis, IN; and Etta Alexander of Wisconsin

  • Three grandchildren: Myranda Gray, Paula Grant and Billy Daryl Grant

  • Two great-grandchildren

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • A host of other family and friends
Lois attended the Lebanon Baptist Church was a homemaker.
