Irene Burton Jasper, 92, Russell Co., KY/Adair Co., KY native (1924-2017)

She was the matriarch of a large, highly regarded family. She was a native of Adair County, KY, and a resident of Russell County at the time of her death. She was the daughter of the late Otis & Malba Harmon Burton and the widow of Hollis Jasper. She leaves 36 direct living descendants.

Irene Burton Jasper, 92, of Russell Springs, died Tuesday, January 17, 2107 at the Fair Oaks Nursing Home in Jamestown. KY.

Funeral service for Irene Jasper will be at 2pmCT, Friday, January 20, 2017 at the Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church, 3979 W Hwy 80, Russell Springs, KY, with Bro. David Coffey officiating. Visitation after 9 AM. Friday. Interment in th Bethlehem Cemetery, by the church. Special music will be by Nancy Hammond, Wanda Sullivan, Ruth Hoover Pallbearers: Adam Rzeszowski, Ashley White, Jamison Miller Kyle DeSpain, Zach DeSpain, Craig Dean.

She was born Friday, March 27, 1924 in Adair County, KY. She was the daughter of the late Otis & Malba Harmon Burton. She died Tuesday, January 17, 2017, in Jamestown, Russell County, KY, at the age of 92 years, nine months, and 21 days.

She was homemaker and a member of Bethlehem Separate Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis Jasper; and sister, Velma Cravens. Survivors include the following:
  • Five daughters: Phyllis (Jerry) Rzeszowski, Bowling Green, KY; Carolyn (Lonnie) White, Russell Springs, KY; Gloria (Larry) Miller, Russell Springs, KY; Jeannie (Phil) DeSpain, Tell City, IN; and Becky (Jim) Ivy, Owensboro, KY

  • Twelve grandchildren: Melissa Berghottz, Melanie Rzeszowski, Adam Rzeszowski, Allison Roy, Ashley White, Holly Walker, Jamison Miller, Kyle DeSpain, Zach DeSpain, Morgan DeSpain, Craig Dean, and Casey Dean.

  • Seventeen great grandchildren

  • Two great great grandchildren

  • Three sisters: Delphia Cravens, Eldalene Clouse, Vileta Helton all of Cincinnati,Ohio.
