He was a farmer. He was a native of Russell County, KY, a resident of the county at the time of his death, and his final resting place will be in the county of his birth. He was the son of the late John Wiley & Ermine Roy Chumbley. His wife, Vivian Sue Chumbley, survives.

Carlus Chumbley, 75, of Russell Springs, KY, died Monday, January 16, 2017 at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs.

Funeral service for Carlus Chumbley will be 1pmCT, Thursday, January 19, 2017 at the Bernard Funeral Home Chapel, 367 N Main Street, with Bro. Bobby Conner officiating. Visitation after 10amCT, Thursday. Interment in the Parks Ridge Cemetery.

He was born February 24, 1941 in Russell County, KY. He was the son of the late John Wiley & Ermine Roy Chumbley. He died Monday, January 16, 2017, in Russell Springs, Russell County, KY, at the age of 75 years, 10 months, and 23 days.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Velna Oakes, Golda McQueary, Lorene Popplewell, Dortha Hopper, and Betty Bunch; and 2 brothers, Ernest Chumbley, and Arlis Chumbley

Survivors:
  • His wife: Vivian Sue Chumbley, Russell Springs, KY

  • Three sisters: Marie Stephens and Helen (Lewell) Oakes, Russell Springs, KY; and Modene (Dorman) Brockman, Milford, Ohio
