Gladys Sneed, 90, Columbia, KY (1926-2017)

Mrs. Sneed had attended the Red Lick Methodist Church and was a homemaker. She was a native of Metcalfe County, KY, and a resident of Columbia, KY, at the time of her death. She was the widow of Edwin Sneed. She leaves one direct living descendant, a grandson, Kenny Jessie of Columbia, KY.

Gladys Sneed, a resident of Summit Manor, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at 11:07amCT at Summit Manor Health and Rehab Center in Columbia, KY. She was 90 years old.

Visitation will begin Friday at 10amCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greenburg St, Columbia, KY. A graveside service will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at 11amCT at the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with interment to follow. Bro. J. Richard Lehman will officiate.


Pallbearers: Daniel Alley, Randy Carter, Danny Jessie, Derek Reeder, Wayne Smith, Brian Tarter.

Gladys Sneed, 90, Columbia, KY (1926-2017)


She was born October 25, 1926 in Metcalfe County, KY. She died Monday, January 16, 2017, in Columbia, Adair County, KY, at the age of 90 years, two months, and 22 days.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Sneed, on January 17, 1976 and by one daughter Mary Helen Jessie on June 18, 2004.

She is survived by
  • One grandson, Kenny Jessie and wife Tanya of Columbia, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews

  • A host of friends
Mrs. Sneed had attended the Red Lick Methodist Church and was a homemaker.

Expressions of sympathy are suggested to the family funeral fund and may be left at the funeral home.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY, in charge of funeral arrangements.
