Mr. Herbert Otto (Herb) Stein, Jefferson Co., KY (1942-2017)

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Maryville Baptist Church. Mr. Stein was a retired restaurant manager, a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and a proud United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War. He was the widower of Betty Jo Stein, and leaves many step-descendants and friends in the Campbellsville, KY, area and elsewhere.

Mr. Herbert Otto (Herb) Stein, Jefferson Co., KY (1942-2017) Mr. Herbert Otto "Herb" Stein, 74, of Louisville, KY, departed this life on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Louisville, KY, at the Franciscan Health Care Center after an extended illness.

There was a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Stein on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at 12pmCT/1pmET, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. Jason Keltner will be officiating. Interment will follow in the Lebanon National Cemetery, 20 Hwy 208, Lebanon, KY. Full military honors will be conducted by the Marion County Veteran's Honor Guard. The family received friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 after 9amCT/10amET, until time for the service.

Mr. Herbert Otto "Herb" Stein of Louisville, KY, was born in New York on December 20, 1942. He departed this life on Sunday, January 8, 2017 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY, after an extended illness. He was 74 years and 19 days of age.

He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Maryville Baptist Church. Mr. Stein was a retired restaurant manager, a devoted husband, a loyal friend, and a proud United States Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

  • One stepdaughter: Debbie Graham and husband Ricky of Campbellsville, KY

  • One stepson: Robert Abell of Campbellsville, KY

  • Two brothers: Herman Stein and wife Joan, and Henry Stein and wife Beverly, all of New York

  • Four step-grandchildren: Jason Keltner and wife Candace, Derrick Keltner and wife Emily, and Rickie Graham, all of Campbellsville, KY; and Robyn Fox of Las Vegas, NV

  • And a host of other family and close friends
Mr. Stein was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mrs. Betty Jo Stein, and a daughter, Diane Abell-Cobia.
