Summer Shade gets yet another Malt Beverage license Dollar General Store in Summer Shade latest to receive ABC Licenses since Metcalfe County voted to end eight decades of prohibition on June 28, 2016. By Ed Waggener With the addition of a NQ Retail Malt Beverage Package License to the Dollar General Store, 3351 Summer Shade Road, Summer Shade, KY, issued on Thursday, December 22, 2016, Summer Shade now has four of the total of nine ABC licenses in Metcalfe County. The County Seat, Edmonton, KY, with 5, now has ony one more outlet than Summer Shade, with the latest license issued there one day earlier, on Wednesday, December 21, 2016, when Rite Aid, 612 Stockton Street, received an NQ Retail Malt Beverage license. The current nine outlets in Metcalfe County have all been issued since the county voted to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages on 28 June 2016. (Metcalfe Co.
