Mrs. Juanita (Lawson) Burress of Elk Horn was born on June 1, 1957 to Dorothy (Underwood) Lawson and the late Bernard "Fuzzy" Lawson. She departed this life on Monday, December 19, 2016 at her home after an extended illness. She was 59 years, 6 months, and 18 days.

There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Burress on Thursday, December 22, 2016 at 11amCT/12pmNoonCT, in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Road, Campbellsville, KY. Pastor Anna Overstreet will be officiating. Burial will follow in Feathersburg, Adair County, KY, in the Callahan Cemetery, 4571 Speck Ridge Road, Elk Horn, KY. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 4pm-7pmCT/5pm-8pmET, Wednesday, December 21, 2016.

She leaves to cherish her memory:

  • Two daughters: Shawnta Wilson of Elk Horn, KY; and Amanda Greer and husband Ryan of Knifley, KY

  • Five sisters and one brother: Christine Holley of West Liberty, Loretta Underwood of Campbellsville, Judy Murphy of Campbellsville, Melissa Mardis and husband Ron of Campbellsville, Dwayne Lawson and wife Thomasa of Versailles, and Becky Stants and husband Brian of Greensburg, KY

  • Four grandchildren: Dakota Wilson, Dana Greer, Jesse Greer, and Damon Wilson

  • A close sister-in-law: Connie Burress and husband Jimmy

  • A close brother-in-law: Johnny Burress

  • A close friend: Sis. Rosa Tungate

  • And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
